Welcome from the President
For the last 60 years, our Club has been working to serve the interests of current and former Australian Antarctic expeditioners, and to help increase public awareness of Antarctic issues.
Nearly 1000 people with direct involvement in Antarctic activities through the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions (ANARE) form the core of our membership, and we seek to keep them in touch with one another by regular gatherings at Midwinter and elsewhere, by our highly regarded quarterly magazine Aurora, and through this website. Our website is also a good place for people with a general interest in Antarctic issues and developments to learn more and to make contacts.
This is your website, as the ANARE Club is your Club. If you have any suggestions as to how it might be improved, do not hesitate to contact our Webmaster at the address shown on the contact page.
We are constantly seeking to make our website more useful and friendly, and we invite you to explore it and to make use of the services it provides. You can also raise any matter directly with the relevant Club officer concerned by sending an email to the address shown on the contact page.
If you are not currently a member, but have relevant Antarctic experience, I invite you to consider the benefits of membership. Four issues a year of our magazine Aurora alone is worth the $40 annual membership fee.
Best wishes
David Ellyard
President
