Mrs Rob's Paintings
As many of you were aware Mrs Shelagh Robinson (or Mrs Rob as she was affectionately called) was an accomplished artist and published author.
Mrs Rob’s family have generously donated a selection of her paintings to the ANARE Club. After consideration, the National ANARE Club Council has decided to make the majority of these paintings available for purchase by ANARE Club members. Four paintings (numbers 1-4) with a distinctly Antarctic /Arctic theme been reserved for future auction at the national and state branch ANARE club 2011 Midwinter dinners.
Images of the paintings can be accessed here:

The money raised from the sale of the paintings will be used to support the publication of Susan Gordon Brown's recent work involving photographs and interviews with ANARE tradespeople. A proportion of the money raised from the subsequent book sales will then be utilised for future ANARE Club projects –a sort of revolving fund, further extending Mrs Robs legacy.

Further Information on Susan Gordon Brown.
To date Susan Gordon Brown has photographed and interviewed 15 ANARE tradespeople. A total of 35 interviews are planned, from a diverse group of expeditioners. These portraits and excerpts from the interviews will later form the basis of an exhibition and a book.
Brian Harvey has been the National Council liaison with Susan. He has enthusiastically supported Susan’s work, and reported to National Council on the ‘trade’s project’ regularly. The National Council have had the opportunity to view initial photographs and written excerpts and were impressed by the quality and thought that has gone into the project to date.
Susan is a member of The MAP Group, a collection of acclaimed Australian photographers who document important Australian issues and topics. Susan’s photographs of drought-ravaged Australia were featured in the group’s recently released book, “Beyond Reasonable Drought”.
In recent years, Susan has staged well received historical photo documentary exhibitions including “56 Faces”, a moving tribute to Australians who survived the 1956 Hungarian uprising, and “40 Days”, an exploration of cultural and religious practices of contemporary Australia.
